If I sit BEHIND the seat now. . . . .

It better be because I'm riding down the side of a mountain.

I think she's all set. . . . .but I did it by myself, so I'd better have someone double check. . . . .JUST in case.

All the "spinny" things spin freely. . . . .she's all clean, bike lusted, lubed and ready to go. Still have to do the "key test" to make sure I got the seat in the right spot, but I think it's pretty darn close.

I don't get it.. I'm just an under informed triathlete type.. but why do you get a setback seat post then jam the seat all the way forward on it?

yeah, it looks like you need to push it back and level it out?

I would of spent the money from the post to go get a pro fit from Bens, Its well worth it and in the long run you will find you feel better on the bike and you will be stronger also.
From working in a shop for over seven years the others are right, all the room you got from the lay back you just lost by jackin the seat foward.
The nose down is fine, alot of woman do that but I would try two things.
#1 Try changing out the saddle to a WSD(Womans Saddle)It will held with so much tip in the nose and get ride of the long nose of the mens saddle.
#2 if you don't get fit have someone check you knee line with your pedal because right now it look like you are pushing out and foward and not down and in the long run this can be bad for the knees and the back.

Yes, you guys are right. I should clarify that all I've done so far (besides put the seat post on) is ride it around for about 90 seconds in the yard w/o shoes. I'll do the key test tomorrow before I ride to make sure it's in the right spot in terms of my knees. I think it will need to go back a bit, although I only needed it a little further back w/the regular post. As for the nose, I have to have it down. I doesn't feel good otherwise. :-)

I've not tried a WSD saddle. . . .this is the only saddle I've ever used. I might just have to buck it up and try one. I just hate to spend the $$ and end up not liking it, when I at least know this one works.

I SHOULD just have a professional fit. . . I think that's a LOT better than testing with a key. Add that to the wish list I guess.

I should also note with this particular sadle it's actually not all the way forward here. It does have a long nose. Then again, I'd probably fall off it if it didn't because I'm so used to that now. . . .

We'll find out tomorrow. Gonna try the Reforestation Camp. Hopefully.

This is the story all women have until they try a WSD saddle. Try one, you won't regret it...neither will your significant other. All 'parts' will be happy.

Before EVER moving your seat do 2 things

- Measure the height to the top of the saddle from the center of the BB
- Measure the setback of the nose of the saddle behind the center of the BB using a plumbob

Because if you don't know where you started, you can't tell where you're ending up.

Stadium team at the Camp from 830am to 1030am or so, if you are up our way that early. We will likely be riding one lap of potential Ramble course.

I'll 2nd the bens fit. I had a great road bike fit done there. It was the "free w/ purchase of frame" fit. I don't know if it differs from the "pro fit". Alan did a great job.
