It's hard to find good help

This morning the the quality control on the coffee was poor. . . . .filter slipped, grounds in the coffee, no time to fix it before darting out to Yoga. It's so hard to find good help, especially good help that lives with you and will do the laundry. Guess I'll be happy with grounds in my coffee.

Yoga seems to be becoming a little easier now that we're doing it a bit more often. I can feel my muscles gaining flexibility slowly. I hope it helps on the bike. I was able to get a good hour in of weight lifting this morning also. I actually enjoy weight lifting. Although I have to remember that just because I have ear phones in my ears and can't hear myself, doesn't mean other people can't hear me. I caught myself audibly "grunting" a couple times. Among thick testosterone that's unnoticeable. Today the girls looked at me like I had a disease. Maybe I do. I could take them though.

Weekend Recap

I don't know how I've suddenly become one of those people who are SOOOO busy they can't take time to update their blog. Perhaps it's because it's easier to immerse yourself in "STUFF" than it is to face the "despair" noted in my last blog entry.

Friday - Guitar hero. Totally hooked even though I totally suck. I do believe I'm the most musically inclined of the group, having played a number of musical instruments in my former years, yet I had it handed to me by everyone, even the "kid who never had music" (hhmmm, notice he's in EVERY picture). Yeah, that's gotta go to NC. That's all I have to say about that.

Saturday - Thanks to Tweak, our Taurus is almost back among the living. The boys spend the day at Plato's garage in Grafton, working. The girls spend the morning at the gym working OUT, then some foo foo time at Alterra, then Brittany went to work while Shooter took a nap.

Saturday night we went out to dinner and splurged (actually all weekend I splurged -uugh) and had a Pink Squirrel. Yummy!!

Sunday meant more work for Brittany, followed by a frantic rush to get things organized and food made for the General's belated birthday celebration. I fared much better at mini-golf than I did at Guitar Hero.

Yes, there is a picture of a tractor on his cake. And yes, they made us watch a stupid tractor show on TV last night. Whatever.

Again ate WAY too much, and spent another action packed Sunday with no time for a workout. I'm fully going to regret too many of those days come "nice riding weather".

Back to reality today. I'm not a big fan of reality any more. I'd prefer fantasy land. Thank goodness vacation is just around the corner.

Have you ever. . . . .

Have you ever awoke in the morning with a sense of despair? Perhaps realized your dreams were not reality, your "to do" list was bigger than you had the time to accomplish, Spring was still 6 months away, you in fact were NOT going to win the lottery, the house was not going to clean itself, another new bike was too far away to think about, broken relationships were still broken, your dog will never come greet you again, etc, etc, etc?

Me neither.

The Lunar Eclipse

Did you look?

It was kind of neat.

Angry

They interrupted The Biggest Loser in order for us to watch Barack Obama stare at a cheering crowd in Texas tonight. What the F&@K? That couldn't wait 12 minutes? I tolerated the results flashing on the bottom of my screen all night. Why must they interrupt the ONE show I enjoy? Isn't that what the NEWS is for?? And why does it take a full 8 minutes to tell us who's leading in the race? Just flash the stupid numbers at the bottom and wait for the 9:00 hour. Or JUST ONCE. . . .interrupt the COMMERCIALS.

And don't get on my case for not caring about the fate of the world. Nothing changes if they wait for their "live coverage" until it's "scheduled time". What the hell is CNN for anyway?

Just another day

Well, we were disapointed the snow changed to rain and now we're getting only a small amount of snow. I think if it's going to snow, it should just snow. Enough of this rain crap. Whatever.

The threat of bad weather had everyone bowing out of plans today. No trip to Appleton, no celebration with friends, no contact with most of them. . . . . . . perhaps they're buried outside in snow?

Got a trainer ride in, played with my new toy, surfed the internet, set some showings for tomorrow, programmed my phone numbers into my new phone and set up my voice mail. . . . .now I guess I'll go shower up and crash on the couch. Nothin' else to do anyway, other than watch TV. I guess days like that are good sometimes too.

Moving On

A whole week has passed without our German Shepherd. It's been a very strange week. On one hand it feels like yesterday we took that dreaded trip to the vet. . . . .on the other hand it feels like a lifetime ago since I last saw her.

I think after a week, Bill and I can finally bring ourselves to vacuum all her little hair balls up from around the house and wipe up all her messy foot prints from the pergo flooring. How gay is that? We couldn't even do those things this week. All week we've been reflecting on what a good dog she was, and of course reliving her little funny episodes. We can finally talk about her without crying. Geeze it's no wonder we don't have kids.

This past week has been one of the most live changing weeks I've had in a long time. I'm still a Realtor, but it feels like just about everything else changed. Maybe it just feels like that. I guess that happens when you lose someone/something close to you.

I've connected with people I haven't been close to in a while, I've structured my business a little differently venturing into more dealings with others, I've changed my workouts (or shall I say I've hardly worked out? That's changing them, isn't it?), I bought a bunch of new pants - changing my "style" a bit, I cut all my hair off, Bill and I even got new cell phones. I've spent more time with family, found out I'm going to be an aunt again, I set up a fitness blog to help a group of people who asked for my help, hhhhhhhmm, what else? We've researched puppies, decided what kind we want next, and we're working on taking the next step. The only thing holding us back from adding to our family TODAY, is we'll be in North Carolina the week before Easter and Bill and I seem to disagree whether it's a good idea to take a puppy along with us (ok, I understand his point, but don't have the patience to wait until we get BACK).

That's about it I guess. Having a "crisis" in your life forces you to evaluate what's important in your life, and what's not. I think it makes you look at things just a little differently. And I cannot even BEGIN to imagine going through a situation like this with another human being. My heart goes out to anyone who's had to do that.

Bring on the snow tomorrow. I'm ready. I'm just in the mood to get snowed in and goof around all day. . . . . at least ONE MORE TIME.

My best friend

Today Bill and I said goodbye to the best friend I've ever had. It was the hardest thing we have ever had to do.

Stormy Trooper

March 2nd 1999 - February 8th 2008

We love you Kitty. And we miss you.

Boy

Boy, it sure is amazing how attached one can get to their "animals".

And yes, our Black Lab is an alcoholic. I think it's the reason why she's almost 15 and still going strong.

Crazy

It’s raining.

No, it’s snowing.

No, it’s raining again.

No, now it’s snowing huge flakes.

What a crazy day. A crazy week. A crazy life we live.

I wish it were summer. And I wish I didn't have to make the decisions I have to make.

Life goes on. At least mine does.

Weekend wrap up

The cold is progressing well. Yesterday I was able to get an ok workout in, only with a supressed heart rate. Today my heart rate responded nicely. No cold medicine today, hardly any sneezing, only a few nose blows. . . . . . . . .hopefully it's moving out nicely.

Celebrated my nephew's 4th birthday today. He's at that cute age. Thanked everyone for his presents, gave hugs & kisses good bye. Cute.

After the b-day celebration and prior to the super bowl, we headed out for another high powered hike. Lost a lot of mucus.. . . . . .but it was a good haul. Actually jogged the last portion, that was hard. . . . . .I've GOT to get my ASS in shape! Got to see some wildlife as well.

I got to run with the deer. . . . . .

Pet the eagle. . . . . . .

Play with the turkeys. . . . . . . .

And feed the fox.

Another fun weekend. Sweet.

Ridin' it out

I finally got "the cold". It hit Tuesday night. I've missed 2 workouts and 1 Spanish class due to this cold so far. I believe that is the end.

One more rest day. That's all it gets. Be gone germs. . . . . .be gone.
